Pervaiz Akhtar is President of German Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Islamabad region He has been heading METRO Cash & Carry’s Corporate Affairs since 2007. Being part of the senior management team, he has contributed towards successfully establishing the METRO Cash & Carry’s business in Pakistan. Prior to joining METRO, he served as General Manager Corporate Affairs for a Dutch Multinational Company (SHV Energy) for over 9 years. Mr Akhtar has a versatile experience of more than 30 years of working with local and multinational companies in Pakistan. During this period, he served in senior management positions in the field of Finance, Human Resources, Procurement and Corporate Affairs.

He is Director of German Pakistan Trade & Investment Ltd and a member of chambers of commerce and industry of Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and Faisalabad.

Pervaiz graduated in 1976 from University of Punjab with majors in Economics. He later attended an MBA program at School of Business and Commerce Islamabad and secured distinction in Business Policy & Strategy and Human Resource Management. He completed his professional training with Klynveld Peat Marwick Goerdeler (KPMG) and passed Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (Inter) examination in 1981. In 1989 Mr. Akhtar was awarded a USAID scholarship and he completed Petroleum Management Program at Arthur D. Little Inc Boston, U.S.A.

Mustafa Siddiqui

Mustafa Siddiqui is an Oil and Gas professional with extensive experience in the upstream oil and gas industry across various regions in Africa, Asia, Americas, Europe and the Middle East. He has worked for Royal Dutch Shell since 2004. He worked at the Shell head quarters in The Netherlands where he was responsible for providing evaluations for new business development opportunities. He worked in Canada in Egypt leading well engineering teams responsible for delivering top oil and gas development projects.

Prior to that he worked for Schlumberger as a petroleum engineer in Pakistan and USA. He was a Research Associate at the Texas A&M University in USA.

Mustafa Siddiqui has an MBA from University of Chicago Booth School of Business and an MS in Petroleum Engineering with a minor in Management from Texas A & M University. He competed his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Middle East Technical University in Turkey.

Sarmed Ijaz

Sarmed is Senior Vice President (SVP) and Regional Business Head (Retail Banking Group) at Bank AlFalah Ltd, Islamabad. He received his Masters in Business Administration (MBA) degree from University of Arkansas at Little Rock in USA in 2001 with Concentration in Finance and MIS (Double Majors) and Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Economics from Middle East Technical University, Turkey in 1997.

He has worked at Standard Chartered Bank, Islamabad as Regional Head Distribution North (Consumer Bank) and JS Bank Limited (Formerly American Express Bank) as Senior Vice President and Regional Head North-1. He has also worked at Faysal Bank Limited as Resident Vice President and Branch / Cluster Manager and at Institute of Economic Advancement, Arkansas, USA as Research Assistant in Economic Forecasting and Financial Analysis

Sarmed has taught Marketing of Financial Instruments to Banking and Finance majors at Capital University of Science & Technology (CUST) formerly Muhammad Ali Jinnah University as visiting faculty.

He is an Honorary Member of Beta Gamma Sigma and Top Business Graduates Society of USA and is fluent in English, Turkish and Urdu.
